For me there is nothing so beautiful as something that was once considered mundane or typical and that is now appreciated (should a therapist weigh in on that?). And Science Class posters are possibly my favourite example of this. Typically the diagrams, which are absolutely perfect representations of the real thing, are on a neutral ground which makes them strong graphically and seem quite stylized even though they are not. What a visual trick. Plus, who can resist nostalgia. Here are some favourites.

Now if only I could get make act together enough to frame and hang my own vintage science poster, a French Scoliosis chart that I bought in a Parisienne flea market more than a year ago. Gotta get on that.
