Are you on the search for something new to collect? I am, always. It’s what makes flea-marketing fun, that search for something new to add to your growing collection of whatever. Currently I collect pale blue Bubbleware, Haegar creamware, brown transferware, antique ladders, antique antlers, all sizes of bankers boxes, globes, milk glass vases, old books with beautifully detailed spines, wicker picnic baskets and gorgeous carving sets. Now if reading that list reminds you of an episode of Hoarders, don’t panic. All my collections are lovingly displayed — and typically only one collection to a room to keep it from looking junky. And if you’ve heard this once, you’ve heard it as many times as I write about collections …display them en masse, that is the key. I am just starting to wrap my head around starting a collection of vintage bathroom mirrors. Of course my first step is collecting inspiration shots of the “coming soon” collection. If these photos don’t sell you on the idea of collecting vintage mirrors, you must be missing the collector gene.
