As┬ápeople always on the hunt for something vintage, something different, something cheap, we can’t ignore skids, crates and dollies. In fact, one of our co-Founders spent an afternoon hauling a truckload of skids to use in our first pop-up window display. Another co-founder came across some fantastic vintage shipping crates to use as tables in the same window display. With some imagination and the tiniest amount of elbow grease, we found that a pair of the shipping crates makes a terrific coffee table substitute. But look what others are doing with packing and shipping materials. Dollies kitted out with wheels and treated to a lick of fresh white paint (see above) make s stylish impromptu sofa, perfect in a cottage, screened-in porch or industrial looking space. Skids can also work as the boxspring and frame for a bed or daybed, and stacked crates serve as bookshelves. All terrific ways to reuse or repurpose cheap packing materials.
