We at Found always keep a look out for great surfaces (interesting table tops and floor boards are a key building block for any stylist) pieces that we can use in a photo shoot for texture and heritage.

Not long ago one of my colleagues dragged home a large slab of flooring she found in the trash, it was huge and heavy- but it’s lovely and she saw the beauty in the old wooden boards.

I’m not a fan of faux in certain materials, wood for example, but recently I saw the scrapwood wallpaper by Dutch designer Piet Hein Eek first hand- and it’s really good looking. The super high resolution printing of the wooden plank paper is effective, and would certainly give a rustic vibe to any room. Consider weaving some texture into your interior- it’s sure to add a little something.

I especially love this wall of recycled doors that was installed for an Amsterdam residential project (also by Piet Hein Eek).
