November 2nd, 2011

With Halloween officially behind us it is time to start the countdown to the holiday season.  And nothing says change of season, to me, like a new colour palette to fall in love with.  Seems like the perfect time to start a new blog series – Found Colour Palette of the Month.  November is always one of those in-between months – it’s still technically fall and yet it often feels like winter.  Soon the vibrant colours of fall will be stuffed into brown leaf bags and we’ll be left with sparse trees & gray days until that first snowfall covers the frosty ground.  There is no better way to inject a bit of warmth and life into your home than to change up your walls and there’s still something about a dramatic hue to really set things off.  Enter teal, peacock, cerulean, deep turquoise…those moody yet vibrant jewel-toned blues.  Whether matte or glossy, sunlit or candlelit, this shade is sure to bring some drama and personality and yet somehow it still seems totally livable, wouldn’t you agree?  Here are some peacock rooms to inspire.  Something I did notice in this series is how pairing it with it’s perfect compliment orange (whether it be in wood tones, books, fabrics & textiles) just makes it that much more gorgeous.
