I love fall, it is as simple at that. Crisp at night for sleeping, crunchy under your feet while walking (the leaves, of course), and time for wearing scarves and gloves. But mostly I just love fall colour. While some like crisp, clean, cool colours, I love them warm and muddied. This doesn’t mean I don’t like blue. I just like the greyed-blue sky on a fall day instead of a bright summer one. And that doesn’t mean reds and oranges have to be glaring and brassy but can instead be muted. Take inspiration from nature (as opposed to store product versions of nature, fake fall leaves anyone? yuck for the most part, agreed?). Below you will see not only are fall colours more varied than you would think, but that the old adage about nature putting colours that work well together is proven. Take a look at Farrow & Ball paint colours doing autumn justice.
