For me, September is the best month for travel. There is little of the high season craziness you experience in the summer months, and the weather is typically more pleasant for sightseeing. I am in the midst of planning a pleasure trip to France after a work trip to Bologna, Italy (if you have already crossed the pond and endured the flight, you might as well make the most of it). It got me thinking about my last great trip which also involved a jaunt to France after a work trip, same time last year. The business part of the trip had me spending some lovely September days in The Cotswolds (nice work if you can get it). Daytripping included a visit to Stow-on-the-Wold, one of the best known small market towns in the Cotswolds, and the Daylesford Organic Farm Market. Funny thing is, we were in the midst of designing our online store at the time, and both these day trip destinations shared our colour palette and look. It truly was a happy accident instead of an influence. But I was happy to see how beautiful our little shop could be if it was real brick and mortar.
