Lucky us. We at Found have been blessed over the years by working with plenty of talented photographers. Imagine our delight when a recent trip to the studio of Toronto-based photographer Luis Albuquerque led us to discover what a crazy collector he truly is. We always knew Luis had been interested in found objects — things like industrial looking cast-offs, old advertising letters and numbers, globes, toys and medicine bottles. But his studio houses a better collection than many stores selling the same kinds of things. Take a look.
There is some nice display going on here, Luis is showing off more than a few things we covet. Plus, as you can tell, he likes to photograph some of his finds. Check out the first aid kit on the shelf, and the photo of it on the floor.
Here are some some other areas in his studio, definitely feeling envy when looking at that old flashlight and toy robots.
What a great way to display seen above, using the old dental tray on wheels as a place for his collection of games pieces. Hello, we love this. And we also love Luis’ personal work. This very talented interior and product photographer also does a lot of non-commercial photography, always a sign someone loves their work. You can see in the shots below how his interest in vintage stuff makes for great subject matter. And, if you love them as much as we do, you can buy some of his photos in our store, or check out his commercial work and blog at Luis Albuquerque.
