Lately I seem to be gravitating to photos of twins – beds that is. There’s just something about the simplicity, the sweetness and the pure symmetry of twin beds that’s grabbing me and I’ve decided that, in my new house, I HAVE to have them! Lucky for me, I happen to have inherited a beautiful pair from my grandmother and have been storing them for just the right occasion. That occasion now being one of our spare bedrooms (perhaps someday a room belonging to a future sibling for my little boy? Hey, a girl can dream!). Wood-lovers beware – I’ve shipped them off to the sprayer where, as we speak, they are receiving a fresh coat of black. I cannot WAIT to see them in all their glossy glory! And while no baby no. 2 is yet on the horizon I’m sure the nieces and nephews will get lots of use out of them when they come to visit…
While twins are not just for kids anymore, nothing looks sweeter than a crisp matching duo for the wee ones. I love the preppy stripes and strong blue & white colour palette used here. So fresh! And creating mile-high headboards and ceiling-mounted canopies with the vertically striped fabric – genius.
A great example of a sophisticated take on the classic twin set-up. This was one from my inspiration “someday” file…used as proof to the hubby that painting ours black was the way to go!
I also love this idea of pushing the two beds together to create a king for adult guests. Reminds me of hotels in Europe and when it looks this good, I doubt anyone will complain about sleeping on break in the centre! (note the black yet again and my favourite blue & white colour palette. I’m nothing if not consistent – ha ha).
And finally this example which was just so darned lovely I had to include it. Stripes, aqua, grey, white hotel linens, Windsor Smith fabric on the drapes…how can you go wrong?!
